Vincent Sam Freedom of the City - 3 January 2018

Vincent Sam and Steve Neville OBE, Co-Founder

I am delighted to report to you that Vincent Sam received the Freedom of the City of London by Servitude on 3 January 2018 in a ceremony witnessed by a few close friends and his mother.

This has completed a remarkable journey which began at the Bexley Business (now Harris Garrard) Academy where he participated in The Whittington Course which generated his interest in the City and in The Worshipful Company of Security Professionals. He was selected from the Business Management pupils for an outstanding paper to become an Apprentice of the Company - our first ethnic candidate. I was delighted to be asked to be his Master and throughout his apprenticeship I have seen the boy become a confident young man who, during this time, gained a 2.1 degree from Aston University and is now an area manager for Amazon.

Today, watching him achieve his Freedom of the City, I saw the future of our Company and I realised just how important our Apprentice Scheme is in stimulating our sense of tradition and future history in the young men and women who will take our Company onwards and upwards.”
