Freedom of the City of London by Servitude

Posted: 6th September 2019

On 4th September 2019 the Company’s former Apprentice, now Freeman, Jenna Reid was granted her Freedom by Servitude by Laura Miller, Deputy Clerk to the Chamberlain’s Court and attended by the Beadle (see below), in short ceremony at Guildhall which was witnessed by her mother Nikki and her Apprentice Master.

Jenna was one of the first two nominations from Reed’s School for the apprentice scheme and was inroled, alongside her Apprentice Master (then) Liveryman Susan Seaby, at the Common Hall meeting of the Court in November 2013. Sadly Sue Seaby died in August 2018 and her place was filled by Hon Court Assistant Roy Penrose.

Jenna’s apprenticeship was extended to 6 years due to her unavailability during her 4-year neuroscience degree course at Edinburgh University and she finally granted her Company Freedom at the Master’s Installation Lunch in June 2019. She now joins the Company’s Young Members.
